Global Learning Provided Daily (GLPD)
GLPD is an enrichment program that provides Music, Science, PE, and Yoga to all Park Dale Lane students weekly. It is funded partly by the PTA and Encinitas Educational Foundation (EEF) and partly by the school district.
All of the grade levels will learn about the fundamentals of music and will be playing various instruments including xylophone, drums, percussion, guitar and autoharp. Third grade will take an in depth look at the harmonica. The fourth graders will study the recorder. All of the grade levels will learn about their voices and how to use them as an instrument. Students will learn how to read and write music and will also explore song writing and composition. The schools honor choir will continue for students in grades three to six. Music in world culture, music history and technology in music will also be included into the curriculum. The music instructor collaborates with other teachers to present class plays and musicals.
